IF YOU ARE TAKING THE COURSE PLACEMENT TEST FOR THE FIRST TIME, PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY
Henry Ford College offers the ACCUPLACER test for math placement.
- The test is untimed. You may work at your own pace.
- The test is given on a computer.
- You may only use the on-screen calculator within ACCUPLACER during the test.
- All questions are multiple-choice.
Please review pages the information on pages 7 through 13 of this document before you take the test so that you know what to expect. You will start with the Elementary Algebra test described on page 9 and then move down to the Arithmetic test or up to the College-Level Math test depending on your performance on the Elementary Algebra test.
Please see the second page of the diagram of our course sequences to learn the placement-test score required for each math course.
If you have proof of an ACT Math score of 22 or higher or an SAT Math score of 500 or higher (with the SAT taken during or after March 2016), you will not be required to take a mathematics placement test to enroll in any of MATH-112, MATH-115, MATH-121, MATH-131, MATH-141, or MATH-150.
